Marketplace Ad Pros vs Helium 10 (2026)
Last updated: August 14, 2026
Short version
These are different kinds of tools. MAP is specifically for advertising -- it connects your Amazon Ads and Selling Partner data to Claude and ChatGPT through MCP, sends daily optimization recommendations, and tracks experiments. Helium 10 is an all-in-one Amazon seller suite where PPC management (Adtomic) is one piece alongside product research, keyword tools, listing optimization, and inventory tracking. If advertising is your focus, MAP goes deeper there. If you need one subscription covering everything from product sourcing to PPC, that's Helium 10.

Both ship an MCP server now
Helium 10 released their own MCP connector in August 2026, so "we have MCP and they don't" is no longer the difference -- and any comparison you read that still says otherwise is out of date. What differs is reach and price. Helium 10's MCP surfaces the data Helium 10 already holds: keyword and competitor research, Amazon Brand Analytics, their ads layer, and profit and inventory views. It authenticates over OAuth, works with Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor, and requires the Diamond plan ($279/mo billed yearly, $359/mo billed monthly). MAP's MCP surfaces first-party Amazon data -- Ads, Selling Partner, DSP, and AMC -- with recommendations, experiment tracking, and direct report SQL, starting at $10/week.
One difference worth knowing: Helium 10's MCP is read-only, and MAP's can act. Their help-center guide and their public MCP repository both describe a read-only V1 whose ads tooling is an analytics query flow, with no bid, budget, or campaign write tools (their marketing page describes approval-gated bid and budget execution, so verify against your own account if that matters to you). MAP is read-only by default too, but you can opt in to an Edit Mode where the assistant confirms each change before making it. Their auth is also browser OAuth only -- their docs state API-token auth is not supported yet -- so there is no headless path.
These aren't mutually exclusive. Connecting both gives an AI client Helium 10's research data and your first-party Amazon data in one conversation.
When MAP makes more sense
- You want first-party Amazon Ads, Selling Partner, DSP, and AMC data in your AI client, not suite-derived research data
- You want daily AI recommendations tailored to your campaigns rather than rule-based bid automation
- You're an agency juggling multiple brands and need organized multi-account views
- You want to track whether specific changes (bid tweaks, new keywords) actually moved the numbers
When Helium 10 makes more sense
- You're a newer seller who needs product research, keyword tools, and PPC in one place
- You want a single subscription for the whole Amazon selling workflow
- You prefer rule-based bid automation with automatic keyword harvesting
- You want keyword and competitor research data in your AI client, which MAP doesn't provide
- You need inventory tracking and listing optimization alongside your ads
Pricing
MAP starts at $10/week for AI Connect (data + MCP access). Optimization plans run $149-999/month billed annually. Enterprise pricing is available.
Helium 10 prices Platinum at $129/month billed monthly or $99/month billed yearly, and Diamond at $359/month billed monthly or $279/month billed yearly. Helium 10 Ads (formerly Adtomic) is included with Diamond. All tiers include the product research and listing tools.
Bottom line
Plenty of sellers use both. Helium 10 for finding products and optimizing listings, MAP for the advertising side. They overlap on PPC but come at it from different directions -- Helium 10 wraps PPC into a broader toolkit, MAP gives you a deeper advertising-specific layer on first-party Amazon data. Both are reachable from Claude and ChatGPT now, so running the two together is a reasonable setup rather than a redundant one.
